Fried Oysters
Ingredients
- 1 Pint shucked Pacific Oysters
- 1 cup finely crushed Saltine cracker crumbs
- Vegetable oil to cover bottom of fry pan
Method
- Drain oysters and place in a single layer on paper towels and pat dry. The oyster should be damp.
- Dredge oysters in the cracker crumbs until covered and place on cookie sheet until ready to fry
- In electric fry pan (or on skillet on stovetop) add enough oil to cover bottom of pan and come half way up sides of oysters when they are added. Heat to 350. Fry oysters in single layer, not touching each other, until the edges turn brown, approximately 7 minutes. Turn the oysters over using a fork and fry the other side until brown.
- Salt and Pepper to taste, drain on screen or paper towels.
